This module is absolutely brilliant, well worth adding to any Virtuemart 2 or 3 shop.

Can i ask for a small improvement though please?

it would be better if you could choose the categories ie select more than one instead of all or one category as it is at the moment.

is there any chance that the selection box could be "select one or more categories" rather than a drop down to just choose one ?

hmm, yes.. that might be a good idea to let me people select multiple categories to filter. But actually right now, selecting the parent category also covers the products child-categories, which i believe more useful feature than what you are saying..

Usually people use Fancy Slider Module to show "Related Products" (so filtering by 1-category is enough)

Enabling the "Multiple Category Selection"option, might conflict with the "Including the child-categories of selected parent" option in terms of coding, or cause too much loading time, because there will be too many queries.. But of course this is just my wild guess right now, i need to dig into codes and run some benchmark tests before say anything for sure.

Cool thanks for considering, i had a module like this in old VM and I was able to select the categories or sub categories i wanted to display, worked really nicely and i expect it will be something that my customers will ask for soon !

My concern is, what if people would select both parent and children of it? This is what i meant with "conflict". This time, there will be unnecessary quiries thus long loading times. Because child ctaegories will be quiried twice.

Maybe the work around to avoid this situation, would be: disabling "include the child categories of selected parent" and enabling "filter by selected categories only excluding their children".
