On an iPad and on Android (don't know about iPhone) what is the behaviour of the ADD TO CART supposed to be? In my testing, it pops up the modal window, without allowing to chg the quantity. My client is complaining about that. Any chance of having option of just button and text box beside it?

scroll to the bottom and include this CSS rule:
The quantity box will be visible by default on smartphones. You can increase the 767px to cover the bigger device resolutions.
