TOPIC: Cart not showing billto address for logged in user

Cart not showing billto address for logged in user 10 years 11 months ago #4464

When I log in as a normal user, the edit address fields in the cart are missing.

Bizarrely, those fields are showing for none logged in users.

Very strange.

Is it some config I haven't completed correctly?

Screen grab 1 - Your site. Looking as it should do. Login options then 'Your Informations'
Screen grab 2 - My site. Not quite right. Login options then 'Edit Billing Address', then 'Your informations'.
Screen grab 3 - My site, Logged in.... What happened to 'Billing Address' ?? It's gone!

Notes.

The account i'm testing to log in with is fresh and set as a normal 'Registered user'.
I've unpublished the PayPal payment plugin and shipment info to see if that made a difference... And it didn't.

I did have this problem once with another site many moons ago but I don't know how i fixed it.

Url: Dev test site

Any ideas?

Hi,

just tried to register thru the cart on your site - after submit nothing - no email, no login, nix... all very odd.

Can you prove please that your VM is actually working correctly (our template is just a template - would be very suprised if it had any effect on the cart process

Please can you test with Puremart completely disabled.
To do this just rename the folder

ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart

to

ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart2

if your using over-rides set them off as well in Configuration->Templates

Cheers

Hi thanks for your reply,

You won't be able to create a new account from the cart until you've completed the check-in process, (added a product etc) and you can't complete the process as I've disabled delivery / payment etc for the moment.

You can create an account from the login bar at the top of the page.

Disabling the template does fix the issue above. With the template disabled, logged in users can edit billing shipto address

Of course I added a product etc - I was testing as a normal customer...

process flow

add product->go to checkout-> Register And Checkout (i.e make an account)

at this point you have activation set - this is not recommended by VM and you will loose a huge number of customers
They don't know what it means, they can't find the email, they find the email, click the link and it opens in another window and then the basket is empty - etc etc - at this point they go somewhere else

at this point I see your problem - the whole address portion isn't showing now - it should look like the 2nd screen.. hmmm

our settings for the checkout are the 3rd screen - have you experimented with them?

have notified the dev team as well

Cheers

Hi John, thanks for the reply. I haven't got round to switching off the self activation email yet but it's definitely on the list.

I don't know if it could be... but i'm going to check anyway...

I've built the site on our Mountain Lion Server (10.8.2), and i'm sure I had the same problem with another site on development on the same server.

I'm about to move the site to a proper 'hosted' server to see if this fixes it. The file permissions on Mountain Lion is a pain to fix for Joomla sites.

Case solved!

It was my server!! I moved the site off Mountain Lion Server and popped onto 123-reg and hey presto... It works

I don't know what the issue may have been, possibly some folder perms of some sort but I know now to test the site once its off my server and onto a hosted server.

Many thanks for your help!
