TOPIC: Ajax conflicts ?

Ajax conflicts ? 11 years 3 months ago #2085

Hi.
I have a few issues which i am sure are just conflicts. I have trawled the forum to save wasting your time and can find lots of similar issues but i cant find an answer that fixes my problem so back for help please !

1. popup quick look and the reviews/ask a question tabs arent working (the tabs are not functioning and the contents of them are all in one column viewable all the time)
2. i also have an issue with the add to cart that doesnt work - the cart should dropdown with the product showing. I have used this on a couple of other sites which works and have tried to compare files but not used 3.4 before so maybe something in this ? The cart is an external module (is there a flexible web one like this that works with 2.5 ?)

i have made sure that the config is as the attached file which i note you have told lots of people about, i have tried variants but cant get anywhere so thanks for help!

also last thing - the enter password box (under username) contents in the cart is misaligned, can you help with this please ?

Im trying to sort this myself and have got a little way into figuring out how it happens but i have no idea why.

There are 6 modules that i need to turn off and then the add to cart and the tab sections etc all seem to work ok, these modules are all custom html modules with nothing special contained in them, one only has this in it !! :

<a href="/sitemap.xml">sitemap</a>

it doesnt matter what is in these positions if something is your template doesnt work.

i wonder if it something to do with the template positions, if i switch templates then it all works because these positions dont exist. i am really struggling to resolve this so very greatful for any suggestions as to how to combat the incompatibilities.

not sure if it is of any help but the positions that are causing the problem are copyright-a, copyright-c, footer-f, header-a, header-b

one of these is the logo - i cant really manage without that !!

cheers

Hi,

Your Website includes jQuery Conflict because of loading multiple jQuery libraries in a single page without "variable changing". Both of them tries to use jQuery as variable and this causes the conflict.

Websites should have only 1 jQuery for every application that requires jQuery. Having only 1 jQuery will fix 99% of the jQuery conflict issues.
Since you are using Virtuemart, and Virtuemart officially requires jQuery1.6.4, your jQuery version must be jQuery1.6.4 (not newer, not older). Since Virtuemart officially loads it, all of utilities that come with our VM Template also require jQuery1.6.4.

And the multiple jQuery usage is here:

You should have this component not to load additional jQuery in your website. OR you can disable it if it is not a MUST component.

The easiest way to resolve jQuery issues is to install this plugin to your joomla:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/performance/jquery-scripts/18327

It is a freeware plugin.
It basically does what you are supposed do: "Lets 1 jquery in the website and blocks all the others automatically".
(DON'T FORGET TO CHOOSE jQuery1.6 from the "jQuery Easy" plugin parameter)

I am sure that plugin will fix the jQuery conflict issue in your website. (but i can't give you guarantee that your other component (Jxtceasyimage) keeps working though.

Once the Conflict issue is resolved all the problems you mentioned here will start working.
Let me know if my solution doesn't work.

That is absolutely brilliant thanks guys - i was wondering if this was even going to be possible on this template but you have surpassed yourselves - all fixed and working fine now.

Would you just clear up the cs issue i have in the cart please with the password box misaligned ?

Hi,

Open this CSS file:
89.200.137.238/tmshop/templates/rt_kirigami/html/com_virtuemart/assets/css/flexibleVM2Global.css

1- Find this CSS Rule:
.FlexibleForm .FlexibleFormRow input.password {

and change it with this:
form.FlexibleForm div.FlexibleFormRow input#modlgn-passwd.password {

2- Find this CSS rule:
.FlexibleForm .FlexibleFormRow a.forgot { position:absolute; top:2px; right:20px; color:#909090; font-size:12px; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px #fff;}
and change it with this:
.FlexibleForm .FlexibleFormRow a.forgot { position:absolute; top:2px; right:45px; color:#909090; font-size:12px; text-shadow:1px 1px 1px #fff;}

3- Find this CSS rule:
.FlexibleForm .FlexibleFormRow input[type="submit"] {

And in this CSS rule, find the margin: 0 15px 0 0; and change it with this: margin: 0 35px 0 0;

The result will be:

Hi,

We are working on a new VM Template these days, and within a week it will be released (i hope so).
The new shopping cart module will be coming with that new VM2 Template, additionally we are going to develop a standalone dropdown shopping cart module that works with VM2.0.xx and we are planing to release it for free. So once the module is released, you can download if freely and install it to your website, so stay tuned.

For forum clearance; Case solved. Topic is closed.
