I have turned them off in Menu and Content but they still appear in each item in the shop - how can i turn these off (or just leave the email one) please ?

It will require some hard coding, because that text actually a iframe that addressed to facebook (it is an official facebook plugin) there fore, you need to increase the width size of that iframe little bit.

Open this page:

ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemplatefolder>/html/com_virtuemart/html/productdetails/default.php

and look for this HTML line:

It must be around 695th line.

And change it with this:


If it doesn't enough, or it becomes too large, then alter it by yourself. Look at the HTML line closely, somewhere in the code, there is this expression: &width=140
(it is in pixel), change it to whatever you want.

Thanks - this doesnt seem to make any difference to that little box though. I have the 140 currently changed to 300 and it hasnt adjusted it at all. (i did have a small issue with it disappearing completely until i realised that you have a small typo in the "iframe" to i-frame")

this isnt a big deal though so if it is a lot of hassle please just say !!

since iframe TAG opens a new URL in an existing page; our forum automatically changes it to i-frame to prevent opening the the targeted URL inside the forum. It is a forum thing, of course there is no such thing like i-frame, the correct form is iframe.

You can create your own facebook like button from here: developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
In step1, fill those blanks, and click the "get code" button. it will give you 4 different codes to paste to your website, HTML5, XFBML, IFRAME and URL, you are going to take the IFRAME only, because HTML5 and XFBML are hard to integrate to a website, if you follow their instruction properly you can do this, but iframe is the easiest one. Regenerate your own iframe code and use it instead. (this is what we have done basically)
