Since my topic 'Parent product gets into basket' has not been solved yet I'm trying to use (Custom Field, Stockable Variants) in stead of generic child variant, although I dont use stock.. gotta do something.

The Stockable would suite me fine (I just set the products with no stock can still be sold) but is it possible to add a picture to each child product. If I choose the color brown, de picture of the product should change to brown. In products with generic chid variants you can do that, but if I try to do that on the stock products, the image does not change, it shows the image of the parent product.

Unfortunately it is not possible with "VM Custom Field, stockable variant" plugin. It can be done through "Generic Child Variant" custom field type only, and the page must be reloaded completely to load different product picture. Did i send you an email that i can replace your product with PureMart so you can use the "generic child variant" custom field properly and as you expected? (having "choose product first" text appears instead of "add to cart" if no selection is made..) ? Was that you?

Yes, that was me. I'm trying to find an alternative for not needing the 'choose product first' option. I like Puremart most :-) but I appriciate your offer, thank you. I only need ' choose product first' because I'm having an issue with 'downloadable products' to sell which the customer can choose from a dropdownlist. In standard VM2 thats not possible, so I bought the shipping virtual products tool from the virtuemart team for that, but it has a bug in it, so I'm trying to work around that too.

This topic can close, I will get back to you for your kind offer to switch to the fashionmart template.

Hi,

In order to change the "add to cart" button to " choose product first' text while using "generic child product", we had to eliminate our awesome "add to cart" button style in PureMArt. You know... we have used a different "add to cart" button and it slices down and shows the "in stock" number when mouse hovered. It includes lots of CSS3 features (in terms of gradient and transition effects), which looks cool. But again, the FashionMart template does what you are looking for, please let me know through This email address is being protected from spambots.
