To block spam I used to work with "EasyCalcCheck" that also have a plugin captcha for the virtuemart "ask question" . With the clean mart template the captcha are not there and I getting a lot of spame, I also try the bulletin joomla "captcha recaptcha" from google and it working outside the template but not on the clean mart.

What is your solution for the problem?

Does that Captcha plugin you are using supports the Virtuemart "ask a question" form?

CleanMart changes the "ask a question" layout through template overriding, you can temporarily disable the CleanMart effects on that form.

To eliminate the CleanMart effectiveness from the "ask a question" form, find this folder:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/askquestion/

and rename it to:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/askquestion2/

Then you will start using official Virtuemart layout for the ask a question form, if the captcha plugin you use supports "ask a question" form, then you should start seeing the captcha. Otherwise, you would need to do some coding changes manually to this file (to include the captcha):

/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/askquestion/form.php

since it is a custom modification, i can't provide you step-by step guide on this.

The Captcha plugin supports the Virtuemart "ask a question" form and there also a reference for template override may be you can tell me the string that I need to enter and this will solved the problem. please see attached file for that matter.

Just now; I installed that plugin over CleanMart in my local machine to test it out.

Through System - EasyCalcCheck PLUS - ECC+ plugin, this is what i have done;

1- Entered "Public Key" (that i got from www.google.com/recaptcha/)
2- Entered "Private Key" (that i got from www.google.com/recaptcha/)
3- Enabled "Virtuemart" parameter:


4- Enabled the plugin.

This is what i am seeing in the front-end. (i didn't touch any file. CleanMart is in the original state in my local machine)

So apparently System - EasyCalcCheck PLUS - ECC+ is a great plugin and it is working out of the box. No need to do any kind of modification with CleanMart files.


But probably you are getting SPAM emails from the "Ask a question" TAB, which is here:



But this is not a "individual" page, you can't activate the System - EasyCalcCheck PLUS - ECC+ plugin in there, because the plugin will look at the current page (by looking at $option, $task and $view strings) and decide either the plugin should be activated or not. Also, the next page (conformation page) is important, because the reCaptch will be "checked" in the next page. Since the "ask a question" form inside the TAB is embed to product details page, there is no way to activate the plugin in there with the current plugin settings. The plugin needs to be customized.

There are 2 ways you can do;
1- Contact the developer of System - EasyCalcCheck PLUS - ECC+. Since its their plugin, they must know how to activate the reCaptcha below the "ask a question" form (that is embed to product details page). This is their plugin, they know how the plugin works and it must be an easy task to handle for them.

2- You can disable that "Ask a Question" TAB through "Flexible VM2 Template" plugin.

For now I chose option #2 and remove the tab and use the link instead, I only need small help with the RTL …. The "ask question" link need to be at the right – please see attached file.
