TOPIC: Cache problem while using cleanmart template

Cache problem while using cleanmart template 10 years 5 months ago #7394

Hello,

I am using Joomla 2.5 along with Virtuemart 2.0.24.

The template works perfectly with website. But later i decided to make my Joomla template responsive. I have custom Joomla template and when i try to write something in my template.css, i don't see those changes reflected on my website after refresh. Joomla caching is turned off. Tried clearing browser cache and Joomla cache but when i turn off plugin "Flexible VM2 Template", it refreshes my template.css. But as soon as i re-enable it, it again caches my template.css. Please suggest possible solution.

Hi,

CleanMart works based on template overriding, and the plugin is only to the change some parameters. CleanMart connects to plugin and grab the current settings (to show or hide elements).

This has nothing to do with your joomla or your template.css file or cache. This doesn't make any sense.

If your template.css doesn't get reflected to your website right away after you make some changes on it, then it means the "cache" or GZIP gets involved. Joomla Cache is one of the possible caches. There are other caches as well. Cache might be enabled through a plugin, or by your template. Check your joomla template settings and disable all the CACHE or GZIP (compression) related options. Those should be enabled at the very end. After the development period is ended.

I looked at the source codes; I am seeing the "template.css" file gets loaded with this line:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/templates/nature/css/template.css?f=0&amp;b=0&amp;fa=0&amp;v=1" type="text/css" />

it is obvious your Joomla template is doing something with this CSS file, this is why there are attributes along with the CSS file (?f=0&b=0&fa=0&v=1) i don't know what they are, because i don't know what structure your joomla template is using, But i can assure you, this has absolutely nothing to do with CleanMArt or "Flexible VM2 Template", it should be a coincidence that template.css has been reflected after you disable our plugin, but there is no direct relation.
