I'd like for this to show on the category and product details page...

--- Regular Price: $30.00 I need to add the label on the category page
--- Sales Price: $20 ( #990000 )... this is done on both category and product details page..
--- You Save: $10 ( #000000 )... this isn't showing on either page

I'm using the flex2 template... I've already editted the language file...

It is only going to be a combination of the choices in the VM price admin - I can't possibly know every combination - our templates follow exactly the logic of the standard ones - therefore click a few boxes in the admin and see what happens...

the price display is in templates/your_template/html/com_virtuemart/productdetails/flexv2.php from line 392

you can see the logic there - but experiment - this is std VM setup

john i followed your tutorial when i installed the template... are you talking about virtuemart > configuration > pricing? and then choosing " show following pricing " ?

...and that will add the label for regular pricing to the category page along with the " you save ' as well?

yes - the VM pricing display is all controlled from the virtuemart > configuration > pricing - whatever is set there controls what shows in any template - it is just a matter of experimentation..

i need some help...none of the combinations are working... nothing is being displayed on the category page...

I just looked at your cat page - there plainly is prices being displayed.... what is missing is the end price

but you really don't make it easy to help you! Can you provide more information than "it doesn't work"?

Where for example is a screenshot of your price settings?
Have you tried the settings I sent you above?
What happens when you tick everything?

As I have explained there is no trick to this - it is just a case of finding the combination you want - it is exactly the same in any VM template including the std one..

If you want to try with our template Puremart completely disabled.
To do this just rename the folder

ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart

to

ROOT/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart2

if your using over-rides set them off as well in Configuration->Templates

John after being unable to get it to display like your page...after all the edits I made to the language and category page/s i just copied them over with the original to start over from scratch...

I tried all different combinations last night and what I was trying to get on the category page was:

Regular Price: $35
Sales Price $25
You Save $10

I'm going to start all over this morning... not using any over-rides...

nothing i do works to get the pricing to look like yours on the demo site...

the farthest i can get on the category page is this:
Regular Price: $35.00
$35.00
Your Price: $25.00
...unable to get it to display You Save: $10

..the details page --- unable to display You Save as well...

john it's obvious i'm doing something wrong or looking at it incorrectly... would you mind taking a look in the backend and let me know what im doing wrong...

ok... i had some stuff mislabeled and once i added the labeling and chose correct combination of items in config... the category page took shape...

now it reads:

• Regular Price
• Your Price
• You Save...

...working on the styling for Regular and Your Price and then I'll move onto the details page...and I'll post results for all to see in case they need it as well..

ok i just added this line to the flexv2 product details file: ( line 409 )

echo $this->currency->createPriceDiv('basePrice','COM_VIRTUEMART_PRODUCT_BASEPRICE',$product->prices);

and now Regular Pricing appears on the details page as well...

i just need to edit the styling on both the category and details page... can you help me with this john?
on the category page i need to strike through the "regular pricing " and then bold in red the Sales Price and increase sale's price to 24px...

on the details page- i need to strike through the " regular pricing " and give it some padding below...

john i was able to figure out the css class with firebug and assign css styling and accomplish what i was looking for..
