Hello, I have had this problem probably forever but have recently become more and more aware of it.

Sometimes (randomly) the Add to Cart buttons on my site stop working, all of them, on every page. And the error I get in console is:

XMLHttpRequest cannot load www.taiffstore.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&nosef=1&view=car…uemart%26view%3Dcart%26virtuemart_product_id%255B%255D%3D1&_=1361826592857. Origin taiffstore.com is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. firefox-detail.html:1

The buttons will all not work, or all will work, at random times, I have not found a consistent pattern as to why. When they don't work, it can last up to an hour until they work again, even after closing and reopening the browsers.

I have tried different ways of fixing this such as making it request the url with www. in there, as well as disabling mod_security and none of it seems to work. I can only imagine how many customers I have lost in the past months because of this issue.

The "add to cart" issue the biggest problem in Virtuemart. If you check the forum, you will see lots of people are trying to find solution about the same problem.

The "adding to cart" procedure is held by AJAX and JSON in Virtuemart. Once the button is clicked, there are lots of things going on in the backend to add that product to cart. And the point is, the page loading must be completed, before clicking the "add to cart" button. I just browsed your website and everything is working alright now. But you are saying, it has a random behaviour and it stops working sometimes. In this case, i can't do anything about it. It is what it is.

But if i were you, i would disable the "Display modal popup upon 'Add to cart' " option in the Virtuemart Backend.
If you disable this, buyers will be redirected to shopping cart directly; instead of seeing the "notification box". It is not fancy and cool at all, but it is better than losing customer. Even amazon does this, once you click the add to cart button in amazon.com, you directly go to "shopping cart" page. Showing "notification box" is a good and cool feature, but the other way around is not a bad thing at all. And it does work without any problem in Virtuemart all the time!!

Okay I disabled the modal pop up for add to cart. Thank you.

Will this completely get rid of the problem now?

Also, I copy/pasted the error that happens when the add to cart buttons dont work so that you can see what it is since it happens randomly. You cant think of any other solution than to just disable the modal popup?

Disabling the "modal cart" is your best shot right now, i can't think of anything right now for your situation.
Did you rise this problem in forum.virtuemart.net as well?
Any "not-responding" from your server might also cause this problem, the error code doesn't say much to me.
