TOPIC: changing the graphics

changing the graphics 11 years 2 months ago #2293

Hi, I have your excellent Puremart template working well for my VM 2 shop. I would like to make slight tweaks & colour changes to the graphics / buttons / checkout - could you advise me how to do this? I see no image folder, is it all CSS? thanks // Andre

Hi,

Yes, there is an Image Folder, but 90% of them is all about CSS. (which is much easier to customize and making changes)

The graphics folder is here:
ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemplate>/html/com_virtuemart/assets/images/Flexible/

The Availability Images are stored here:
ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemplate>/html/com_virtuemart/assets/images/availability/

And the Global CSS is located here: (this includes all the CSS rules that have to do with PureMart)
ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemplate>/html/com_virtuemart/assets/css/flexibleVM2Global.css

To make the color changes, or any customization, first i would suggest you to use FireBug plugin to figure out which CSS rules you are interested, then open the flexibleVM2Global.css, find that CSS rule and make the changes as you wish.

For more info about Firebug, refer to this page: www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-virtuemart-2-template-puremart-support/342-using-firebug-for-customization-or-troubleshooting

In PureMart, we have used CSS3 gradient feature to generate the buttons background color mostly (instead of graphic), and gradient colors are used in different places for the background as well. To regenerate your own custom gradient CSS rule, you can browse this website: www.colorzilla.com/gradient-editor/
create your own gradient background color, the website will give you the CSS rule, copy it, and paste them into flexibleVM2Global.css.

PS where is the multiple images option for the flypage

The multiple image option is all about Virtuemart itself. In the Virtuemart backend, if you add additional image(s) to any product, they will be displayed as "additional images" in the flypage (product details page).
