I would like to add a picture in the cart (near the "your cart is empty")
Is that possible to happen?
I know that I am asking something that you are not obliged to do but I would appreciate just to give me rough guidance.
Just tell me which file to modify or whatever. Any help is welcome.

I don't like to say NO directly; because i know you wouldn't believe, so you can try and see it by yourself. The PHP file to generate the initial Cart module is this:

ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemlate>/html/mod_virtuemart_cart/default.php

Don't touch any <span> or <div> elements in this PHP file but add your own ones (and of course don't forget to create backup because most likely you will mess up and want to retrieve back to original)

Anything you change in this file will most likely corrupt the AJAX loading. That cart module is refreshed by Virtuemart (the AJAX refreshing is powered by Virtuemart itself, it has nothing to do with our VM Template) once you add the product to cart. Maybe changing something in the Virtuemart Core files will give you what you want, but i don't know what those Core file changes are.
