TOPIC: Display of the dropdown list

Display of the dropdown list 8 years 4 months ago #13501

I am using the latest quickstart package.

I am having issues with the number of entries on a dropdown list. If you have up to 8 options on a dropdown list, it works fine (image 1). More than 8 options and the list starts to expand out upwards (image 2). Any more than 13 entries on a list and the full options are not shown.

Works fine on standard joomla template (image3).

Please can you fix this.

Thank you

Hi,

We have used "Fancy Dropdown" plugin to make the dropdown boxes look pretty. But this plugin fails to work in cases where there are too many options in the dropdown.

There are 2 different solutions you may go with:

1- Don't disable the "Fancy Dropdown" plugin but make sure the dropdown select box sits above the header bar.
- Open this CSS file: templates/flexible_sportmart/css/template.css
- Scroll to the bottom, and insert this CSS rule:
div.fancy-select ul.options.overflowing.open { z-index:999999;}

2- Disable the "Fancy Dropdown" plugin and get back to official dropdown select box layout.
- open this PHP file: /templates/flexible_sportmart/tpls/blocks/head.php
- find these lines and remove them:
$('select.inputbox, .product-field select').not('.product-field.product-field-type-A select, .product-field.product-field-type-E select, .product-field.product-field-type-C select').fancySelect();

And you will be good to go.

Regards.

Hi

Option 2 works. However, what is option 1 suppose to do - it doesn't appear to do anything.

Just as a side point, would it be possible for me to try out the Cleanmart template. The reason I didn't buy that over SportMart is because I don't think it will be compatible with the current Joomla theme I am using.

I have not used SportMart yet so if CleanMart works I would want to swap it for SportMart.

Thank you

The 1st option was actually to make the "dropdown" flows on top of the top-header-bar (that was a fix for the 2nd screenshot you attached -- image2.jpg)

Since our templates are open-source, we don't offer "trial" or "lite" version for them. But we are here to help you out in case of a "incompatibility problems with your existing Joomla Template" (free support against incompatibility issues within first 6-months). You may check the CleanMart Forum www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-virtuemart-template-cleanmart-support , it is full of resolved cases. If there is a problem that even our "support team" can't resolve, we provide 100% full refund.

What is your Joomla Template that you are planing to use the CleanMart on? If you can give me a link of the Live Demo of it, i can tell you whether it is or not compatible.

FYI: The joomla template must be a "plain joomla template", It shouldn't be a "Virtuemart-Ready Joomla Template".. Because by installing the CleanMart on top of it, you are turning the "Plain Joomla Template" into "Virtuemart-Ready Joomla Template". Got my point?

I am using a Virtuemart ready template which is why I don't think it will integrate (not without a lot of work). I am using the Reviver theme from Themeforest.

I was not sure that I could get Cleanmart to integrate - I have tried to integrate Cleanmart V1.2 into Reviver a long time ago and I ran into major problems. So, I bought the Sportmart template instead.

Maybe I will try to do my best with Sportmart.

Thanks

Hi,

It just not a good idea to install CleanMart on top of an another VM-Ready Template. It would be hell of a work, even for me. Because you have to eliminate the Virtuemart influence from the existing Joomla Template first, then install CleanMart.. so much work!! wouldn't worth it.

It is just much better idea to first get the Joomla Template that you like the most or pick the the most appropriate design that will get along with the eStore you are working on (pay attention to; menu navigation, slideshow component, responsiveness, module position variations, blog support, footer/header designs, light-weight, technologies, CSS3, HTML5 etc..), It won't be hard because there are millions of Plain Joomla Templates available on the web (T3, gantry, yootheme, gavick, rockettheme, joomlart etc..). Then install the CleanMart on top of it and BOOM! you get the coolest, up-to-date VM-Ready Joomla template ever ;) and its design will be unique to you.

But of course, SportMart is also cool too ;)
