Please see attached screen shots. Our template does not allow registering clients to view the TOS on the inital Registration form. They can check it off, but cannot read it. Kind of useless if they cannot read something they are agreeing to.

Please help me fix this. Thank you.

This is a Virtuemart+Joomla incompatibility thing.
Templates shows off only what Core provides. (in this case, CoolMart is Template, and Joomla+Virtuemart is Core)

Virtuemart makes that field mandatory, because Joomla requires some fields to create account.. that kind of thing..







But there is a way to take it out by going to MySQL and make this selection manually. To do it, open the PHPMyAdmin,
Look for a table called #yourtableprefix_virtuemart_userfields. In this table you´ll find all userfields. Edit the userfield named "agreed" and set the field "account" to 0, thats it.

By the way, I don't know what will happen if you take out that field. I have never tried/tested it. After you make this modification; run couple tests (create new DEMO users) to make sure everything works perfectly as expected.

I don't think you quite understood my concern fully. Can we simply put a link to the Terms of Service into the registration form so the client can read it before checking the box?

I understand Virtuemart has made this mandatory, and therefore we should not mess with that, so can we do the above?

Unfortunately it is an another dilemma.

The "TOS" on the registration form comes because Joomla asks for it (it is not a required field though, so it is safe to hide it). The TOS shoppers "check" in the shopping cart page (before checkout) and the TOS in the registration form, are different things. They might look the same, but actually they are not.

You can't put a link or HTML lines to a TEXT string. (the label of the TOS in the registration form is a text string). It will generate some another problem. Most likely FATAL error.

You should better take my advice and take the TOS checkbox out from the registration form. This is the best you can do.
