TOPIC: Trouble getting the Zoom to display

Trouble getting the Zoom to display 11 years 1 week ago #4247

Hi Support Team,

The website in question is www.joya.co.za/ and it is built on Joomla1.5.26 and is using VM1.1.9.

I have installed the module, changed the two PHP files, enabled dynamic thumbnails and published the module - but all I see is an image that links to a larger version of itself and text under it that says "mouse over to zoom".
I have attached the two PHP files for you to look at.

I have no idea where I went wrong, but there is no zoom.

I went through the support threads. From what was said in the forum I
- checked that it is a large uploaded for the product
- removed the thumbnail image (out of interest sake)
- enabled Mootools and disabled it again
still nothing

I also want to know how I can keep thumbnails the size they were before 'enable dynamic thumbnail resizing' was checked - as it is causing all other thumbnails of products to go wonky throughout the site.

The other thing I would like to know is how one adds the extra thumbnails under the image that is suppose to zoom? Do I need to buy the additional images extension for this.

Kind regards,
Leigh-Ann Otto (Web Developer)

Hi,

It isn't working because the css and javascript isn't loaded ..

If you check the source of the site www.flexiblewebdesign.com/virtuemart-zoom-effect-for-virtuemart-1-1-9/

you will see loaded

<l-ink type="text/css" href="www.flexiblewebdesign.com/virtuemart-zoom-effect-for-virtuemart-1-1-9/modules/mod_vm_flexible_zoom_effect/media/flexible-zoom.css" rel="stylesheet">

&

src="www.flexiblewebdesign.com/virtuemart-zoom-effect-for-virtuemart-1-1-9/modules/mod_vm_flexible_zoom_effect/media/flexible-zoom.min.js"

plus the parameter script

jQuery_1_5_2.fn.flexibleZoom.defaults = {
tint: false,
zoomWidth: '400',
zoomHeight: '300',
position: 'right',
tintOpacity: 0.5,
lensOpacity: 0.5 ,
softFocus: false,
smoothMove: 3,
showTitle: true,
titleOpacity: 0.5,
adjustX: 10,
adjustY: 0
};

this is all missing on your pages -

I don't have the install scripts with me but will notify the head developer who has..

He will contact you shortly - but meantime double check you have followed the installation instructions

Cheers

Thank you for looking into it. In the mean time I have uninstalled and reinstalled the module, still no luck.

None of the css or js is being loaded - they are not present in the head.

Is it published to a position on the VM product page..? Which position?

this module MUST be present on the page where you want the zoom - is it?

This is why your zoom doesn't work..

Thanks - the position was set to 'left'. I chose another position and it works! YAY!

Would I need to open another ticket about the thumbnails? - so that you can close this one?
I also want to know how I can keep thumbnails the size they were before 'enable dynamic thumbnail resizing' was checked - as it is causing all other thumbnails of products to go wonky throughout the site.

The other thing I would like to know is how one adds the extra thumbnails under the image that is suppose to zoom? Do I need to buy the additional images extension for this.

Good - yes - left doesn't exist on the flypage

where is this a problem? e.g if in the cat view just alter your cat template to display the image at the size you want

they just show if you have additional images

Thank you very much for helping me out. This was my first experience with VM, so I apologize for the silly questions. All sorted!
