Hello I have been trying to trouble shoot this all day but on a site we are working on I am running into the issue of when you click add to cart nothing really happens. Its trying but I see this in firebug

POST www.hurleyengineering.com/index.php?option...tuemart&nosef=1&view=cart&task=addJS&format=json

500 View not found [name, type, prefix]: Productdetails, json, virtuemartView

"NetworkError: 500 View not found [name...s, json, virtuemartView - www.hurleyengineering.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&nosef=1&view=cart&task=addJS&format=json"

can be seen on this page www.hurleyengineering.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=5&virtuemart_category_id=2&Itemid=417

we have tried turning on and off many of the pop up options with no success. Any help is appreciated

Also on a side note do you have a work around for adding back related products?

Add to cart 500 error 6 years 5 months ago #12730

This topic has been marked as "STICKY" topic to serve to others. The responses between "problem and final solution" have been deleted.

The problem was;
- Once the product is added to cart or removed from cart, dropdown shopping cart module wasn't updated
- Module was throwing a Internal Server Error - 500 error message to Browser console.

This Dropdown Shopping Cart, 500 Internal Server problem upon adding to cart or removing from cart, has been resolved and i am now providing you the simplest solution ever.

Open this PHP file:

find this line:
if (!class_exists( 'VmConfig' )) require(JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR.'/components/com_virtuemart/helpers/config.php');

and replace it with this:
if (!class_exists( 'VmConfig' )) require(JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR.'/components/com_virtuemart/helpers/config.php');

that's it. The internal server error will be gone, everything will be just fine.
