I have created some required fields that the buyer should be choose before entering the product into the shopping cart.
The MaterialMart ignores this required fields and entering the product into the shopping cart.

When I disable MaterialMart on my website, the message that prompts the buyer to select the fields is displayed normally.

Hi,

No matter what kind of patch we do, this would be problematic all the time. Because the 3rd party custom-field and MaterialMart, they both try to style/function the custom-fields section differently. So, they conflict each other.

So, the real question is;
- Should 3rd party custom-field support MaterialMart?
- Should MaterialMart support the 3rd party custom field?

The answer for both questions is NO. Because 3rd party extensions are not suppose to support each other. They are developed/test and debugged to work on Core Virtuemart.

But, why don't you fill out this support request below and let me see what I can do on your website. I will basically try to disable the actions of MaterialMart in the custom-fields section completely, so the other 3rd party custom-field will freely control everything. BUT !! Once i disable the effects of MaterialMart in the custom-field section; you are going to lose the dropdown select box effect of MaterialMart as well.

So, the real question is;
- Should 3rd party custom-field support MaterialMart?
- Should MaterialMart support the 3rd party custom field?

I understand what you are saying to me, but when someone plans to create an online store for example, it does the market research, finds the extensions that serve it in the implementation and purchases these extensions.
In any case, he can not know if there will be a conflict with other extensions, nor can he try before buying so as to reject some of them.

I really like the MaterialMart , but my e-shop is based solely on the custom fields. The native custom fields of the Virtuemart are not so flexible for the job I want to do.

In my opinion, resolving the problems that arise, help you to perfect your product :)

Hi,

I just fixed this problem by modifying this JS file:
/plugins/vmcustom/customfieldsforall/assets/js/customfields_fe.js

I changed this line:

var addtocart = form.find('input[type="submit"]');

to this line:

//var addtocart = form.find('input[type="submit"]');
var addtocart = form.find('.addtoCart'); // this line added by Flexible Web Design

And everything starts working just fine.

FYI: in MaterialMart, "add to cart button" is an anchor-tag (not a button).

Unfortunately, the problem has not been solved completely...

I tested the function "Add to cart" with the most famous browsers, and the results are as follows:

1) Google Chrome 61.0.3163.100 : The problem remains
2) Firefox 56.0 : The problem solved
3) Safari 5.1.7 for windows: The problem solved
4) Opera 48.0: The problem solved
5) Internet Explorer 11: The problem remains
6) Microsoft Edge 38.0: The problem solved
7) Opera Neon 1.0: The problem solved
8) SeaMonkey 2.46: The problem solved

In conclusion, we see that the problem persists only in two browsers
The bad news is that the Google Chrome is the most popular browser and must definitely be solved, for the better functioning of my e-shop. :(

By the way, add-to-cart event and the validations are handled by JavaScript, so this can't be related to browser-type. As long as the "JavaScript" is enabled on the browser, everything should be good to go. Browser compatibilities are 99% of the time related CSS (not javascript)
