Yes, Carousel module is not responsive, but we do have plans to make the carousel extension responsive. Hopefully responsiveness feature will be added to carousel in the upcoming version.

It will happen. That's for sure. But there is no ETA.

Most likely, the carousel extension will be re-built. Adding responsiveness is just one of the feature they will be added. There are other feature we are planing to include as well. (such as, being able to work with all modern versions of jQuery libraries to minimize the conflict problems, and improving the UI)
