I just purchased Flexible Fancy Slider for VM 2.6 / 3.x and installed. I am running VM 2.6.18 in JOOMLA 2.5. I installed the mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider.zip file in the 2.x folder using Extension Manger (Akeeba backup assist) but the module does not show in the Module Manager even though JOOMLA said the install was successful.

I am updating my old Flexible Fancy Slider for VM 2.0. Only the 2.0 install is showing in the Module Manger.

Just clicked on the "New" button in my JOOMLA module manager, and the only install that shows there is the one for VM 2.0 with this message:

Also, in the 3.x folder there isa zip file, a .DS store file, and a mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider folder.

In the 2.x file, there is a zip file, a .DS store file, but no mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider folder. I unzipped the zip file and it gave me numerous files but no folder. I created the folder mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider and placed the files in the folder. I did another 2.x install but came up with the same result (succesful install but not showing). This time I noticed a message on the install page also said:

Thanks for buying. This Fancy Slider module is for Virtuemart v2.0.xx only !

Do I need to uninstall my old version first? Also, why does the install message read 2.0.xx and not 2.6.x ?

First of all, disregard the .DS_Store file. It is an empty & hidden file because the ZIP was created in a Mac OS X operating system. In Windows, that file means nothing, you can delete that. More info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.DS_Store

It was our mistake that we left the "mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider" folder under "for Virtuemart 3.x" folder. Also disregard that folder as well. only the ZIP is necessary to install the module to your website. (this valid both for VM2.x and VM3.x)

If you are using VM2.x (VM2.0.x or VM2.6.x doesn't matter, they are all the same) then you should install this ZIP:

UNZIPFIRST_mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider >> for Virtuemart 2.x >> mod_vm_flexible_fancy_slider.zip

through Joomla Extension Manager. You don't need to uninstall the old one if you are just upgrading.

Then; you should be able to see "Flexible Fancy Slider" module on "Joomla Module Manager" page.

- if you don't see the module in the module-list, you can click the "Joomla Module Manager >> NEW", find the Fancy Slider Module and add to your module list.
