Hi, a bug in the plugin creates problems when switching languages.
In detail you need to reload the page twice before language changes.
This is due to the fact that you use the wrong trigger: you should useinstead of, otherwise the plugin loads vmconfig before joomla sets the language.

Actually "Flexible VM3 Template" plugin uses onBeforeRender trigger instead of afterinitialise/ And no bug has been reported with this timing.

But if you benchmarked and figured out that onAfterRoute is a better timing to trigger the template plugin; then you should keep using it.
