The drop down cart will not update according to CMS One Page Checkout and conversely the CMS OPC will not update after updating flexible drop down shopping cart. Is that known issue? Do I have to buy new drop down cart in order to work with CMS OPC?

With the latest release of Dropdown Shopping Cart Module for VM3.x, there is no known compatible issue with CMS OPC.

You must uninstall the old version (both module and plugin), then install the new version (module and plugin). Then there will be no issue.
