TOPIC: Styling from Puremart & other styliing Q's

Styling from Puremart & other styliing Q's 10 years 2 months ago #8028

Hi There,

Just playing around with this in a test site and it's looking very nice, but just have a couple of styling type questions, if you can help?

I have added it to this copy/test site bit.ly/1bUpm4R

1 - See Screenshot. I seem to be getting background styling from my puremart theme within the cart module on the home page?. In other pages around the site the Purmart Styling doesn't show up within the cart module?
I have removed/rename mod_virtuemart_cart in my template overrides, but I still get this white background styling coming from the main puremart overides.
What is the safest way to remove this, so that it doesn't effect future puremart upgrades?
I guess its coming from a class that has the same name here - #vmCartModule.vmCartModule in This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. but also not sure why this would only show on my home page?

2 - The height of the products is a bit messy. Is it OK to add a min-height:185px; to the relevant place or is there a parameter I may have missed. Again you can see this in the 2nd screenshot.

3 - I have discussed this in the Puremart forum, but will this standalone have any difference on my problem with some products not being added to cart when the page has not loaded quickly enough?

Thanks & really impressed with the look and feel of this cart module.

Andy

Hi,

Yes, you are right. The PureMart comes with a CSS rules to style the shopping cart module. vmCartModule is the official ID for the shopping cart module. We can't change that, this is why the flexibleVMGlobal.css tries to style this module.

The best way is to open this CSS file:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/assets/css/flexibleVM2Global.css

and remove all CSS lines from:
/* Flexible Virtuemart Cart START*/

to
/* Flexible Virtuemart Cart END*/

Therefore, PureMart won't try to style the drop down shopping cart module.

2- I will take a look at it. This module has just been updated and revised, so it is normal it has some bugs. This is just one of them. Putting <div class="clearfix"> </div> (after the 4th products in the row) will fix the issue. I will take a look at it. And most like a new version will be released to fix this issue.

3- I can't say "YES" to this question:
Does your standalone cart solve the problem of some items not being added to the cart, when page hasn't fully loaded too?

Because even though the shopping cart modules are standalone, "still" the Virtuemart core file (vmprice.js) is responsible to add the products to cart by making the AJAX call. So unfortunately using a 3rd party shopping cart module has no positive or negative effect about it.
