Hi
I just installed the new template with the option to select the category layout as default list view or flexlistview

I have also checked the category page and it is set to no over ride, but when i click on a category the default is still grid view.

I have uploaded a pic of my settings

Any ideas on what I am missing?

How about if you choose DefaultMultiGridView?
Still you see the GridView by default?

Did you try to do the same thing from "category page", for testing purpose try it for 1 category, choose defaultListView. (basically override it). And tell me if it is changed from there.

Yes i tried that on the category page and selected defaultlistview and it still showed up as gridview (defaulted to)

I found the problem.

It is because of the filename has too many characters. I just can't believe how we missed this.

The solution is very simple,
open your FTP and open this folder:
ROOT/templates/<yourjoomlatemplate>/html/com_virtuemart/category/

and change file names:

defaultListView.php -> defaultlist.php
defaultListView.xml -> defaultlist.xml

defaultMultiGridView.php -> defaultmulti.php
defaultMultiGridView.xml -> defaultmulti.xml

flexv2ListView.php -> flexv2list.php
flexv2ListView.xml -> flexv2list.xml

flexv2MultiGridView.php -> flexv2multi.php
flexv2MultiGridView.xml -> flexv2multi.xml


JUST MAKE SURE TO CHANGE PHP AND XML FILES AND MAKE THEM EXACTLY THE SAME.
