Hi,

I remember this topic and took a look at it. I am thinking; it would be pointless to waste time for fixing it. Let's say i fix it.... nobody (beside you and me) wouldn't notice this patch. And more importantly nobody (including me, except you) thinks; this is a bug.

Of course we all want everything to be perfect, but we are not developing websites for Ph.D graduating thesis, right? As long as the functionality and the feeling is there, wrong pixel calculations are pointless. It can be tolerated otherwise developing one single website would take months if we spend a lot time for those tiny details.

We have way much bigger problems to solve. Such as, as you mentioned, disabling zoom effect when product is enlarged and reenabling when the picture is contracted back to normal. This is a known issue and waiting for to be patched.

As you might have noticed, we have changed our website design entirely, the backend has also get changed, which was a big headache. We are still struggling making things perfect and finish the uncompleted section. To be honest with you, these days i have no time to spend on zoom effect for fixing those 2 issues (especially the 1st one). But i can guarantee you that the zoom effect enabling/disabling when enlarge/contract issue will be fixed as soon as possible.

You are talking of something completely different!

My "problem"is that i cannot completely zoom on a product ik can only zoom the blue square.
Please use this link : h t t p://w w w .hetkacheltje.nl/invermic/index.php/houtkachels/cv-houtkachels/stratford-eb16he-detail#enlarge
( please notice the spaces in http and www)
Press on "groter beeld"
When you then go over the image with you mouse(magnifying glass) you can't see the entire image!
This is my problem ;)

Thanks for your time

I think i now understand your problem.

But as i said;
"disabling zoom effect when product is enlarged and reenabling when the picture is contracted back to normal. This is a known issue and waiting for to be patched."

The zoom effect acts weird after the product is "enlarged". It is a known issue and waiting for us to be patched.

Hi,

No worry, we are not that much strict about the updates. You won't be able to get the "improvement", but this is not going to be "improvement". it is a bugs fixing and you deserve to get the patch, and i am sure it won't be complicated to implement the patch to existing template for fixing this issue. Therefore i might publish a tutorial to fix it in this topic, so others for those who are not eligible to receive the updates will also get benefit from it.

We will figure out something and sort that out, but the bugs needs to be patched first before we talk what we can do about it, right?.

I am inpatient to solve this problem ;)

Because it started annoying me. I am currently working on a new Joomla Virtuemart Template and everything is going great. I am going to use the same zoom extension in that template as well, and definitely i want this problem to be solved.

Once i get there, i will work on this specific problem and once it is solved, it will be the easiest part for me to apply the same patch to all of our existing templates. Because basically all of our templates are using the same exact zoom effect extension.

Cheers,

Hi,

I can't recall if this problem has patched or not. Because there are too many things have patched/improved in the last 2 months.

But please check here and see the latest state of the Zoom Effect extension:
demo.flexiblewebdesign.com/puremart/index.php/mens-watches/hugo-boss-test4-detail

1- click the "enlarge" button, the picture gets enlarged, and the zoom effect stops working. It remains being not-working until an additional picture is clicked (which is when the zoom effect function get refreshed.)

2- Click the "close" button, and picture gets back to normal. The zoom Effect stops working again and it remains being not-working until an additional picture clicked (which is when the zoomeffect function get refreshed.

Apparently the problem of
"The zoom Effect stops working when "Enlarge" is clicked and it remains being not-working until an additional picture clicked"

but at least the zoom effect stops working after clicking the "Enlarge" and "Close" buttons.

How the zoom effect behaves in your website?

Thank you for your reply. It is still NOT solved.

Please click on the link you provided in the post above this one.
Then click on ENLARGE IMAGES.
Then move your mouse from " top left" to "the bottom right" of the enlarged picture.
The mousetrap is working fine until you pass the center of the picture, then the zooming effect is gone.

I think that the size of images mather. when they are smaller (example 700x700) it works fine..

Ohh yes!. I see what you mean now.
I don't know how possible i didn't notice that before.

The patch is relatively easy for it.

Open this PHP file:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/productdeatils/default.php
(default.php or flex2.php which ever you are using currently for the product details page)

And look for this line:
$('.FlexibleEnlargeView').click(function(){

and replace it with this:
$('.FlexibleEnlargeView').click(function(){
     $('.mousetrap').fadeOut('fast');

I just applied this fix to our demo as well. So you don't see layout problem anymore in our DEMO as well.

Hello,

The solution above works. The only thing i think and that is also on you site, is the zooming of the not enlarged image is bigger than the "enlarged image" My enlarged image is still small. So two questions:

1 how to enlarge the image (with the solution you provided above)
2 what's the patch code to still use zooming effect on the enlarged image's with a good mousetrap..

Thanks for you patience an your answers.

Kind Regards

Hi,

1- I don't understand this question, please try to ask again and be more specific.
2- Currently not possible, unless clicking an other thumbnail. (another additional product picture)

Support.

Hello,

my original question was:

(1) how to enlarge the image (with the solution you provided above)

With the solution you offered clicking on the enlarged image button, blows up the image. But it is still small for me.
It's is only a few percent bigger than the thumbnail... so it does not really contribute to get a bigger picture..
Like the example, it doesn't really add something. When there is no working mousetrap. i like the enlarged image to be bigger.

Hi,

Look at this topic:
www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-virtuemart-2-template-support/1802-enlarge-picture-does-not-work#8302

I guess you have the same problem. The solution is:

Open this CSS file (or any CSS file that your website loads):
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/assets/css/flexibleVM2Global.css

and include this CSS rule:
div.main-image img {max-height:none;}

And everything should be good to go.
