You will need to upload some large product images. If you upload small or medium-sized (less than 500x500 pixel) product images to your shop, the zoom effect won’t be adding much user-exprience to your website. Zoom Effect uses the original images inside the zooming-box window, it does not virtually scale up your original images to avoid picture quality loses.

It really depends on your website layout.
Just for testing, add this image to any of your product: www.iwallscreen.com/newres/1440x900-new-york-city-night-lights-ipad-wallpaper-ilikewallpaper-com.jpg

and see how the zoom effect will start working efficiently.

1- To resize the "popup" for the "quicklook", take a look at this post:

2- We don't provide support for custom modification. You would need hard coding on the product details PHP file to achieve this.
