I hope someone can help me with the following:
When I click on a category, the products are shown as thumbs.
Personally I prefer the list view.
Is it somehow possible to change the default view to list instead of thumbs ?
Tried a lot of things in category\default.php but failed so far.
Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

did you try the other versions of Category Browse Layouts?
There 4 different layout for Category Browse Layout. 2 of them are "Grid" by default, and 2 of them are "List" by default.



Try the flexv2 layout it is "List" by default layout. If nothing is changed when you change it, then check the Categories parameters.
Make sure all categories have "No override" selection.

Spend hours in trying to swap the default by editing files.
Layout flexv2 is just what I need.
