I have set this module to not filter results when browsing, however when I browse manufactures, the results are filtered?

1) Correct display with no filtering:
engen.stormdemo.co.za/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=6&Itemid=181

2) Shop by brand (manufacturer), incorrect display:
engen.stormdemo.co.za/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=6&Itemid=182

or

engen.stormdemo.co.za/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_manufacturer_id=78&Itemid=182

The fancy product slider is modified version of official "VM - Product Module". The background (gathering the products and listing them etc..) is the same.

Normally, deciding what products to show inside the module has nothing to do with the current page you currently visiting. Modules are independent from the current page. The module will list the products regardless of the current page.

There is a module parameter in the module backend called "Display Group". Check both module and tell me what "Display Group" you are using for both module (that you say they show different products in different virtuemart category pages)

The products displayed are "Featured products" as they are "on sale". This only seems to happen when browsing by manufacturer (in this sites case it is renamed to "Shop by Brand")

You can click on shop by brand in the 2nd top menu, and click on willards... then it only displays the featured products from willards, however when you browse by category, it does not limit the featured products.

I haven't noticed that, apparently this is a new thing with Virtuemart core.
As i have said, the background of Fancy Product Slider Module is as same as the official "VM - Product Module". I am 99.9% sure, the same thing will happen with VM Product Module as well.

Deciding what products to list or what product to hide is taken care by the Virtuemart component core files.

Our module just use the global function of
and calling this function (which is defined by this Virtuemart core file: /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/models/product.php

to gather the products.

In my opinion, it is a cool and useful feature to use manufacturer filtering, but you don't like and want to disable, fair enough. But it would require some Virtuemart core hacks, which is not recommended and beyond our free support. Indeed, touching any core Virtuemart files will eventually cause you some bigger problem in the future.
