Im trying to create a dropdown menu for sizes using Cart Variants,

I found a post here on how to do it using Plug-ins but I got confused adding child products and everything and thought there must be an easier way as I've used Cart Variant before with one of your templates

The settings I have are

Cart Attribute - YES
Default - 39; 40; 41; 42; 43; 44; 45; 46; 47; 48
Admin only - NO
Is a list? - NO
Hidden - NO

We have published some tutorials about how to add variety of "Custom Field" types to Virtuemart.

But those tutorials are for "Virtuemart" itself, not for our templates. Creating custom field is handled through Joomla Backend, where our template has no effect.

If you want to keep track the stock number for the attributes, then you should be using:
VM - Custom Field, Stockable Variants

If you don't care about the stocking of attributes, then you should be using:
Cart Variant
Which is pretty easy to setup, tutorial is not necessary for it

If you don't care about the stocking of attributes, but want to use "Icon" instead of plan text for attributes,then you should be using:
Image Type Custom Field

If those tutorials confuse you, then there is nothing i can do for you. Because this is how Virtuemart works. There is no easier way to do them (unless you use some 3rd party plugins, and 3rd party extensions are usually tend to develop some bigger problem eventually, in the upcoming new VM versions. Using 3rd path plugin for generating custom field is not recommended)

It is really easy once you understand the concept and the idea, but can be tricky for the first time.
