I am trying to have color & size drop-down menus to my product detail page.
I would like to use custom fields / generic child variant so we have control of stock.
but with that solution I am getting 1 drop-down menu with all the children and that is confusing for the clients, as we have many colors and many sizes
So I tried to use Plugin / Stockable Variant
now with the original VM template it is working, but with the FashionMart - Virtuemart 2 template is NOT.
i am getting always the last SKU.

Please HELP, any suggestion will be great.

I know exactly what you are talking about. This problem you are facing has been fixed already in our VM Templat - FashionMart.
Probably you have the old version. I am re-enabling your download status for now. The download link will be sent to your email address shortly.

If you have made some custom changes in our VM Template and don't want to lose them, then manually take and overwrite only the "product details" PHP files. Your problem will be solved.

It is working now, but I have these problems:
In the quick look - pop up window the custom fields are not working.

Moreover in the products with no custom fields the add button looks different than the one in the products with custom fields.

Did you take only "product details" PHP files, or you applied our VM Template from scratch?
I hope you are working in a live server. Please provide me some URLs where i can see the "add to cart" button looks different. You might have found a bug in our VM Template, i should see it before telling you anything.

is there a limitation on the number of child's to show in stockable variants plugin ?
I have 4 colors and 5 sizes and it shows only 4 colors and 4 sizes !!!

it is a bug at stockable variant plugin

Hi,

no there is no limitation for the "stockable variants", they can be unlimited.
Make sure "Parent Variant" checkboxes are selected for all variants.



And the DEMO of how the stockable variants work is presented in our DEMO:

Make sure;
- Virtuemart AIO 2.0.10
- Virtuemart 2.0.10

IF you would like to have the same effect as you see in our DEMO (when the stockable product is out of stock, the "add to cart" button turns out to be a "notify" button" you will need a patch. (this patch can be considered as "hack of Virtuemart" so it is your responsible to apply it or not. It doesn't come with our VM Template by default.)

The patch is attached: the file name of "stockable.php.zip"


UNZIP it and upload/overwrite with this file:

ROOT/plugins/vmcustom/stockable/stockable.php

DON'T FORGET TO SAVE THE ORIGINAL FILE IN CASE THINGS GET MESSED UP.

But how can I manage the order of child's ??? any suggestions ? Pleeeeeeease !

I definitely no idea about it. You can manage the order of "groups" from "Custom Field" link, but as far as i know, you can't manage the order of child products after you add them. Maybe you should better submit it to forum.virtuemart.net and ask them to implement that feature in the next release.
As VM Template developers we are not allowed to touch the Virtuemart Backend while developing VM Template, otherwise it will be called "Virtuemart Hack", and we don't want to do it.

Why in product details it shows the add to cart button with a different format from pop up buy ?
somehow it doesn't take the FlexibleWebquantity div. it takes class quantity-input js-recalculate

I had to made that change to stockable.php in order for your button to work as expected.

We have already released the patch for plugin/stockable/stockable.php to make things feasible when using "stockable plugin" along with our VM Temlate, but we don't share this patch right away UNLESS it is specifically requested by our client. Because otherwise people might think that we are HACKING Virtuemart. Which is not correct. We always refuse the provide any kind of CORE patch even though it makes things work smoother. But i am glad you figured out it by yourself.
