Hi!

The settings are the followings:

In case of new registration the frontend states that I have been logged in.

but in reality in the backend I haven't

when I press the activation link in the e-mail I got the following picture:

but in the backend I see the following:

this means the self registration does not work.

I have been working on this problem for a long time but I could not solve it. Please answer as soon as possible.

If I use Google Chrome the following thing happens: After I sent the registration (but not clicked on the registration link in the sent e-mail) the frontend shows that I am logged in. If I click on the activation link later the registration is successful.

So if my buyers use Firefox the registration does not work properly but under chrome yes. But in both cases shows for the buyer a false information (that they are logged in when they aren't).

Sorry to urge you, but my webshop registration still doesn't work (for 7 days). Please inform me if you are working on the problem. I hope you understand why it is important and urgent for us. Thank you.

Hi,

This is not our template's fault. It is what it is with Joomla. Our template has absolutely no influence on user registration, activation, login etc.. Those are all CORE related things; our templates just "style" the front-end and make things look pretty in the front-end (this is actually what a "template" does)

But let's look at from other side; What it is the purpose of "account activation"? To avoid people to enter fake email addresses, right? But it is completely nonsense to apply this protection for an eCommerce website. People will pay money to purchase goods from your website; why would they enter fake email addresses? Am i right? Have you ever done this? I haven't....

So; it is safe to set the "User Account Activation" to "NONE" via Global Configuration >> Users and this problem will be vanished completely. Users will proceed to checkout without needing any activation and what so ever. This will definitely increase your sales as well; because checkout process will take less time to complete. I believe; the purpose here must be to "sell products"; not to "collect real email addresses"

You are right, it is not your mistake. When I set up the Joomla 3.6.2, the self registration works properly. Than I installed Virtuemart 3.0.18, here I already met the error I wrote above. But I did not find any forums where anyone talk about it. Maybe this is a PHP setting mistake at my server provider? It is interesting that it works with Chrome but doesn't work with Firefox.
Is there anyone who already has met this problem?

I am sure VM3.0.20 will resolve this problem if it is a known bug. Did you raise this bug on forum.virtuemart.net? If nobody does, then "you" should. Maybe VM developers are not aware about this problem.

I suggest you to create a topic to explain this bug (don't forget to provide screenshots with/without Virtuemart3.0.18) If you grab their attention; I am sure they will resolve this bug in the upcoming VM release.

Since this is not a Virtuemart Community forum; i am closing this topic for cleaning.
