TOPIC: menu problem when orientation is changed.

menu problem when orientation is changed. 7 years 3 months ago #14768

Hello,

As you can see in my website: www.jewelietta.com when viewed through a mobile device and the orientation is changed (from portrait to landscape and vice versa) the menu is supposed to transform into a dropdown one (in portrait view) and expand again in its original form (in landscape view). This works ok but if someone clicks on a menu item when it appears in a dropdown form and then turn their device's orientation into landscape the menu doesn't appear correctly.

I know you have posted a solution to this problem in this post: www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-joomla-virtuemart-template-lightmart-support/3394-after-resized-incorrectly-displays-menu-and-slide, however, your solution isn't entirely correct. When the orientation changes back and forth, the menu appears correctly, but in portrait mode, it doesn't work (clicking on the menu doesn't do anything) until you refresh the page, which is counterproductive. This is also the case in your demo site.

Can you check it please and provide us with a new solution?

I'm using joomla 2.5 and virtuemart 2.x

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

If you apply this patch below; everything will start working just fine:

1- Open this CSS file:
/templates/flexible_lightmart/css/custom.css

and insert this rule:
@media (min-width:768px) {
	#menu.wrapper { width:auto !important;}
}

By the way, on what device you are testing your website, iPhone or iPad? (-- because changing orientation on iPhone doesn't change the menu style) -- so i suppose you are testing on iPad.

What tool you are using to test, Chrome Dev Tool, Xcode IOS Simulator? Or are you simply resizing the browser window?

Changing the browser width is not actually a "test" for mobility. Don't do it!

You should test your website for mobility support via Xcode IOS Simulator or Chrome Dev Tool >> Device Tool Bar
