I'm having problems with checkout page.
If user does not chooses shipment or payment, and clicks confirm button, page just reloads again with no alerts like (Please choose payment and shipment method).
In the previous version of your template I used, it would load at least Contact, shipment and payment page separately , but now only reloads with no alert info.

Is there a way for those info alerts show if they forget to insert something.

Hi,

Clicking the "Checkout Now" button (without selecting shipping and payment method) should proceed to "Select Shipment" and "Select Payment" pages..

Without choosing payment and shipping methods, the button of "Confirm" shouldn't be displayed. Instead, it should read as "Check Out". Are you sure you are seeing the "Confirm" button? Even though the "Shipment" and "Payment" methods are unselected?

For better testing, you should behave like a "real user". So,

- Logout from the website
- Add product to cart
- Proceed to checkout page
- Click the "Register" or "Guest Checkout" (don't login with an existing user, instead create a new one or use guess checkout)
- Click "Checkout Button" without choosing any shipping or payment method.

then see what happens.

(you should be seeing the "Select Shipment" and "Select Payment" pages accordingly)

While testing, you probably did go back-and-forward over-and-over again, which caused form-conflicts and you got unreal results during the checkout process.

Usually it works fine, but in some cases everything is filled as it should, and when I click finish order it just reloads the page with no alert what is wrong, so people don't know what to do... and they leave.

I have 2 questions:
1. Are there Virtuemart alerts available to activate so if some info are missing, user to see allert?
2. can we purchase some plugin "one page checkout" and use it with your template instead your checkout solution... are there going to be any conflicts?

Hi,

Our template doesn't use any kind of plugin or what so ever on the shopping cart page. The flow is exactly the same on Virtuemart Core as well. We just implement the "AJAX" loading when buttons are clicked to load the shipping and payment buttons and did some cosmetic touches to buttons, elements etc... that's all. But the general flow is still the same in Virtuemart Core as well.

You can definitely use a 3rd party One-Page Checkout Plugin or get back to official Virtuemart Shopping Cart page. You just need to de-activate the "LightMart" influence on shopping cart page. To do that, find these folders:

/templates/flexible_lightmart/html/com_virtuemart/cart/
/templates/flexible_lightmart/html/com_virtuemart/user/

and rename them to

/templates/flexible_lightmart/html/com_virtuemart/cart2/
/templates/flexible_lightmart/html/com_virtuemart/user2/

and that's it. You are now using the "Official Virtuemart layout" on the shopping cart page, and you can safely install a 3rd party One-Page Checkout plugin.
