TOPIC: part two: Main menu adding over 6 entries

part two: Main menu adding over 6 entries 9 years 3 weeks ago #12332

I also wanted to add more than six menu items to the menu bar. I've increased the template width to 1280px. Works fine on big screens when I use 7 menu Items. But on screens smaller than ±1024 px there are problems: sometimes all menu items are sorted vertically and sometimes only one or two.
When I try to add more than seven items I also have this problem on hi res screens.
I think there are 2 solutions and I can't figure out how to do this :-) :
-reducing the padding between the items
-responsive menu starting below ±1100px

"Either that or reducing the padding between each menu item.
But that's fine. 1150px is not a big value. Nowadays, 1200px becomes a default value for website width sizes."

Hi,

If you knew how to use "Developer Inspector" (it is a build-in extensions with all browsers -- chrome, firefox, safari etc..) you would know what needs to be done in 5 seconds.

for more info, see this topic:
www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-virtuemart-2-template-puremart-support/342-using-firebug-for-customization-or-troubleshooting

Anyway, see my screenshot:

So, open this CSS file:
www.wilbert.nl/templates/flexible_lightmart/css/menus.css

find this rule:
div#menubar ul.menu li.level1{margin:0px 40px;}

and change it to this:
div#menubar ul.menu li.level1{margin:0px 20px;}

OR- play around with the number until you get what you need.

regards
