TOPIC: Innerbottom position and Responsive sidebar-a menu

Innerbottom position and Responsive sidebar-a menu 10 years 10 months ago #5088

Hello there and congrats for this supreme template.

I've figured out tho, that the INNERBOTTOM position ain't like the way you show @ the screenshot (www.flexiblewebdesign.com/virtuemart-2-template-lightmart/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=533) in module positions in the demo. It goes UNDER the sidebar and not under the maincontent as it supposed to go.
(Same goes for innerbottom 2).

Any clue how to fix it ?

ps. Is it just me or when you press REMOVE from the cart module, it takes like 5 to 10 secs (and sometimes never until a refresh) to remove the product? It is a bit misleading for the visitor.

Thanks !

Hi,

is this related to this problem?
www.flexiblewebdesign.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=20&id=1057&Itemid=234

did you do this fix on yours (the latest has been patched)?

Maybe this causes the problem?

Re remove button - we are beginning to think offering this was a bad idea.. ;) - there are loads of posts about it and it seems extremely server dependent..

If you feel the time delay is too long then just remove it - it's an extra but if not useful then you can remove..

Cheers

Hi John,

No this has nothing to do with the other topic. Just try to put a module in the innerbottom position and you will see that it will go under the sidebar-b, as the BOTTOM-A does. In other words, its like innerbottom-a and bottom-a use the same position.

ps. Ok i think i will disable the remove button from the cart, because its very confusing for the visitor.

Hi Alex - have notified the dev team and I'm sure they will come up with a fix shortly

but in the meantime I see your right -

the innerbots are under the sidebars

in templates/flexible_lightmart/layouts/template.php around line 146 you will see the innerbottom block

<?php if ($this['modules']->count('innerbottom + innerbottom-b')) : ?>
        <section id="innerbottomContainer" class="grid-block">
        	<?php if ($this['modules']->count('innerbottom')) : ?>
				<div id="innerbottom" class="grid-block">
					<div class="wrapper">
                		<?php echo $this['modules']->render('innerbottom', array('layout'=>$this['config']->get('innerbottom'))); ?>
                	</div>
                </div>
			<?php endif; ?>
            <?php if ($this['modules']->count('innerbottom-b')) : ?>
				<div id="innerbottom-b" class="grid-block">
                	<div class="wrapper">
						<?php echo $this['modules']->render('innerbottom-b', array('layout'=>$this['config']->get('innerbottom-b'))); ?>
                    </div>
                </div>
			<?php endif; ?>
        </section>
        <?php endif; ?>

this needs to be moved up to line 120

just after
<?php if ($this['config']->get('system_output')) : ?>
				<section id="content" class="grid-block">

				<?php echo $this['template']->render('content'); ?></section>
				<?php endif; ?>

works for me - please see screen shot

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion Alex, yes you are right.
The picture doesn't show the correct version. My mistake, I should have corrected the module position graphic as well.

At first, it was meant to be that way, but then it has changed with the latest version. Because this way, it looks much better. Otherwise, everything looks so crowded.

It is quite easy to move the "innerbottom" back to its original location though (below the article, between sidebars)

John gave you the solution to handle this. You just need move the lines.

While playing around with the lines; always start copy-pasting with IF statement and end with ENDIF statement. So you won't end up with 500 internal Server issue. And of course, always BACKUP first!

In case you haven't figured that out before; to create a blank module (which wont get styled by the template) simply type
style-blank

to Module Class Suffix.

Hello again and thanks for all the answers!

John's modification indeed did the trick, however it turned out that the innerbottom position looks better as it was before.
I just was a bit confused because of the screenshot in your demo page.

Thanks for this great VM2 template and i am really looking forward to your next vm2 release. Hopefully, you will make a "stand-alone" vm2 theme that can be used to any joomla template ;>

Cheers.

Innerbottom position and Responsive sidebar-a menu 10 years 10 months ago #5146

1 last question since ive already opened this topic to avoid opening a new :

My "eshop" menu (the 1 with the eshop categories products) is in the sidebar-a module position.

The problem is, as the screen becomes smaller(responsive), the sidebar-a menu disappears and the only option for a mobile user for example, is only the main menu option. Which, in my case, contains only general information buttons.

Is there any way to assign the sidebar-a menu, as the one to show for the mobile users instead of main-menu when the screen becomes smaller?

Thanks !

What you are asking is a custom modification. And i can't help you out from here. Of course it is possible, but lots of tests are required in order to make sure everything looks okay and correctly. You have to handle this modification as our support doesn't include any kind of custom modification.

The CSS file you need to make edit is this:

templates/flexible_lightmart/css/responsive.css

Open this CSS file and take a look at the screenshot.

This is all i can help you from here, the rest is up to you and your CSS knowledge.
