I just tried to update my template One-by One (as recommended in the update sticky note)
The plg_vm2_cart.zip did work,

but the tmp_flexible_lightmart.zip won't work at all.
I always get an Error 500

My system:
- Virtuemart 2.0.20b
- Joomla 2.5.9

you need to find what exactly that error is - 500 just says the php stopped

check your server logs, error logs etc so we have a starting point..

I found this error

FastCGI: comm with server "/var/run/hcgi/116300" aborted: error parsing headers: invalid Status '-1 copying failed!'

sounds a fairly basic error - enough disk space etc? Wrong permissions? I'm no server jockey - leave that to my host..

Our files are basic Joomla/VM api files - they just work - can you install anything else on your server?

But for this sort of general Joomla problem I would first ask my host if they can see whhy it's failing..

disk space is ok.
permissions are ok , just ckecked.

I'm able to install, update and uninstall everything, except the tmp_flexible_lightmart.zip file
It does upload the .zip file and unzip it, but no install.

are the files there under templates/ ?
Is the xml in the folder?

if not is the xml in the zip?

Can it install via the native Joomla discover system? (ftp the files to /templates/ then "discover" them)

Most servers have max. 2mb file limit for uploading via http, and the LightMart template installation file is over 2mb.
This might be the reason of failure.

Try other installation methods.
First of all, with using your FTP software, upload the installation zip file to your server, then in the joomla backend(extension manager),

Try one of these alternative installation methods:
- Install from Directory
- Install from URL





I am 99% sure it will work out, but if still no luck, let me know. I will take a look at it more deeply.
