i have your Darkmart template in my site (www.romanasirshop.it) and i have many meno voices...
the menu now appear like a vertical list, that it's too tall for the page, i see that in your DEMO i can put voices in horizontal mode, how can i do?

If I change our menu to columns-2 it changes to 2 columns - so it does work..

It doesn't need modification..

by giving the top level menu a class of columns-x as I understand it it all happens automatically...

thats a Joomla thing -- there isn't any

you have to be inventive with your menus - why can't COLLEZIONE UOMO be a menu item to that parent category?

Because "COLLEZIONE UOMO" is the separator between my clothes categories, like "T-shirts", "Pants", etc..
If i make it VM category, i can't show all categories that i have. I try also to make it External link, but there isn't any class config :(

Solved make the same thing that you have made in your DEMO.
So, give at "COLLEZIONE UOMO" the root VM category, and switch on (at the momenti on my site i haven't activate it, because i have to find the thumb) the subcategory view in VM control panel.
