On category screen:
  • Cant to add to cart with first click (only after several add button clicks)
  • After successful cart adding I see cart icon and "TOTAL: ###" instead of cart icon and red ball. Only after page refresh it become ok
  • No nice red ball jumping to cart like on product screen

Hi,

Check if you installed this plugin: plg_vm2_cart.zip (its name is plg_system_vm2_cart)
If you have already installed it. Then make sure it is published.

Aha! much better now. But I still can't add to cart with first click - only by second click product is added.
Also, no red ball jumping. In demo no animation too, is it by design?

Hi,

the "Red Ball" animation active&works only on the "product pages".
And it is working okay in your website as well (on this page: 31.31.202.117/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=403&virtuemart_category_id=61)

It is same in our DEMO.

About, failure of adding product to cart at the 1st attempt:
I noticed this problem in your website. Honestly, i have no logical explanation for you. According to "Console" everything works flawlessly.

Try these one-by-one and see if anything gets changed:

- If you using any 3rd party CACHE plugin/component, disable them and try.
- If you are using Joomla built-in cache, disable it and try.
- Disable the SEF URL and try
- Navigate to VM Backend >> Configuration >> Template and UNCHECK: Use Fancybox

Then let me know about the results.
Either one of these should solve the failure of adding products to cart at the 1st attempt.

Thank you. I had tried your suggestions, but without success.
I have found source of issue - session handler. It really tries to save to session, but no changes on next request. I switched handler to APC and it works fine now. Now I aware of other related possible issues...
Do you have any suggestions?

hi,

What was it before? And why don't you use the "database" as a session handler? Don't you see it as an option?
If memcache is not available then "database" is the best option to store session with joomla.
I don't think APC is capable to handle session. It is more like for CACHE only. But if it fixes the problem, then Wolaa!! you will be good to go. ;)

(seeing or not seeing those options in the joomla backend is directly related to what your hosting supports.)

Also i know that using memcache is also tricky and needs to be well configured (in case you are seeing memcache and willing to use it). Look here:

Yes, it was database. Joomla offer option for APC session handler and it works ok. Do you think memcache is better?

Hi,

I can't say better, but this is what people say. Search it on google.com. I am sure you'll find many articles about benchmark results to compare the different types of session handlers in PHP.

I am marking this case solved, and closing the topic for clearance.
