Hi,

I have installed Cleanmart and configure it .
I have also an extension named "Custom filters who use the standard VM and Joomla API to displays results for search
breakdesigns.net/

Could you pliz figure out how or where your template didnt permit to filters the results normally ?

this is what the DEV of this extension tells :

You have to address that to your tempate developer. He probably limits some functionalities only to the Virtuemart pages

Before addressing that to your template developer, do the following:
Go to the menu item you have created for Custom Filters and check the setting "Choose a layout".

The selected layout should be the same you are using for your categories.

If this does not work, please address to your template developer.

It doesnt working as expected .. why i didnt understand .. could you help ?

If your template dev. is following the Joomla standards for overriding layouts. You will be able to see the layout there and select it.

This field is coming from the Joomla api, so it cannot be our fault.

For Test it and view the problems :

After a check by Sakis the DEV of the extension :

Hi

I checked it.
It is a 100% a matter of template.

The filter doesn not have any relationship with the display.
What it does is to find the product ids of the searched products and then it just submits the found product ids to the view. Then it is the matter of the layout how they will be displayed.

What happens in your case is that some features are limited by the template to be displayed only into the Virtuemart category pages.

You have to ask from your template developer to enable these features also in the component>com_customfilters and view>products

The solution is simpler than this.

As you might know, CleanMArt comes with 2 different category layout:
1- default
2- flexv2

You are using "flexv2" layout for the Category Page layout, but the Custom Filters loads the "default" layout after any filter is selected.

Understood?
What you need to do is to manipulate the "flexv2" as "default" and use the "default" layout.

Follow my steps:
1- Through FTP, do these changes:

rename these filenames:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default.php
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default.xml
to
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default2.php
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default2.xml

then, rename these filenames:
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/flexv2.php
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/flexv2.xml
to
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default.php
/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/category/default.xml

Understood what you are doing? You are actually changing the filename of flexv2 to default.

Then open the VM Configuration and navigate to TAB where you change the category layout. Choose the "default" for category layout. (it was "flexv2" previously). You will keep using the "flexv2" layout, but its name is "default" now.

Since the Custom Filter Extension also uses the "default" layout, there won't be any layout differences.

Let me know if this trick doesn't work.
