Hi,
"Strict Standards" error doesn't serious error messages, and you can live with them. adding
to those PHP files will disable the strict standards error reporting. But, FATAL errors... it is different story. Fatal error will either generate error message that you can't disable, or you will end up with a completely blank page like you have in here:
/administrator/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=config
without accessing that Virtuemart Config page, you can't control your Virtuemart at all, you can't live with that.
You would probably need to change your hosting company and find a better linux/Apache hosting. (such as; bluehost.com, inmotionhosting.com dreamhost.com, or a Russian local hosting company) If your visitors will be from Russia mostly, i would recommend you to go with a local hosting company though, so the page loading speed will be better. The closer you are located to server (data center of your hosting company), the faster your website will open on your screen (the ping will be decreased)
If you decide to purchase hosting from bluehost.com, inmotionhosting.com or dreamhost.com, don't think twice, they are good! but those hosting companies are U.S based companies, so their data centers are mostly located in U.S (some of them offers European data center as well, but i don't know the details, do research about it).
You are just starting developing a website, so i would strongly suggest you to change your hosting company and start your journey with a better one. Because your concern must be improving the UI and improvising the user-experience, not dealing with messy error messages.
Before changing your hosting company, you may try to downgrade your Virtuemart from
2.6 to
2.0.26d which is one version older and doest require higher PHP version...but again, I won't recommend you to do it though.
OR you may try this, just to be sure you have no option other than changing the hosting;
- Install a fresh new joomla and use default template:
beez_20 -- download
j2.5.19 from
www.joomla.org
- Install a fresh new Virtuemart component -- download
vm2.6 from
www.virtuemart.net
just install these two and see how your hosting responds. If you see one single error message anywhere (because you shouldn't see any), you will have a clear idea that: "YOUR HOSTING COMPANY IS LACK OF SUPPORTING VIRTUEMART AND JOOMLA" then take an immediate action and change your hosting company right away.
