Hi Regalos,
I noticed the problem about the sidebar menu. Once the mouse pointer hovers the picture, the sidebar item's dropdown is gone.
But unfortunately it is much more complicated and can't be solved via just CSS edits. Template's index.php has to be modified and the HTML tree needs to be re-organized. The thumb rule of CSS: "Child element of z-index is always inherited from the parent" is valid in your case.
There is no way to make the just dropdown element's z-index larger than the ZoomEffect element. The only solution is to make the z-index go "parent element of dropdown element" larger than "ZoomEffect element", but this time; ZoomEffect will stop working because parent will stay above picture and the mouseHover on picture won't trigger the zoomEffect event -- i hope you understand what i am saying.
I am afraid; i can't provide you free-support here, as i have explained above, your case requires deeper investigation and further modification on template's index.php (and at the end of they, the modification on index.php shouldn't break anything on your website, which makes the case even more complicated)
You may purchase premium support:

FYI: I tried to explain what i am saying on the below screenshot:
