Max says this:
Max: There is a reason that we do not provide add to cart button in category view
But this is what you understood from what he says:
(problem is from Template provider Flexible)
The problem is not from Flexible. The problem is from: putting "add to cart" button in category page if the products have plugin based custom fields.
But actually we have come up with a solution for that, which eliminates the confusion for buyers, but it is not presented with FashionMart, we did it with CleanMart. It is our newest Virtuemart 2 Template.
See the live demo for better understanding:
demo.flexiblewebdesign.com/cleanmart/index.php/kid-s-clothing
If the product has E type or A type custom fields (plugin based or generic child variant)
Then the add to cart button will transform to an ordinary link button (it still looks like an add to cart button to improve UI but once clicked, it goes to product details page instead of adding product to cart right away)
It also shows this notification text to buyers (to improve UI):
Attachment Pasted_Image_4_24_14__4_06_AM.png not found
It is user-friendly, it doesn't confuse buyers and it eliminates all the adding product to cart problems.
