Yes, we are working on it. But VM2.9.x is still a beta (Release Candidate), and shouldn’t be used on a productive website. So, it makes no sense to support a “beta” version for us. We are waiting for the stable VM3.0

As far as i know, within 7-10 days, VM3.0 will be released and published on www.virtuemart.net/download.

Currently it says:
VirtueMart 2.6.10 is the latest stable version available. It is compatible with Joomla! 2.5.
